Call for Abstracts
The Scientific Committee of the Pain Science in Motion conference is pleased to announce that the call for abstracts is open now. If you are a PhD researcher and interested in presenting your work during one of the conferences which provides the stage to junior PhD researchers, you are welcome to submit your abstract. Abstracts of protocols or finished scientific research projects regarding pain in its broadest form are welcome.
The Scientific Committee encourages authors to emphasize the methods section. Accordingly, research protocols without any results yet or with only preliminary results are also welcomed. In that case, the protocol must be thoroughly described.
Please note that it is the author’s responsibility to submit a fully corrected abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author.
Every researcher is allowed to submit a maximum of two abstracts.
There are two different types of contributions, oral presentation or poster presentation. You can provide your preference during submission.
Oral presentations will be given during parallel sessions during which the prester will receive 10 minutes to provide the oral presentation guided by a PowerPoint. Afterwards 5 minutes will be provided to answer questions posed by the delegates.
Posters will be presented and discussed during topical poster walks. Each presenter will present their printed poster in 3 minutes, after the presentations there will be a 10 minute discussion between the poster presenters and the delegates which is moderated by a chair. In addition, poster presenters will be asked to stay at their poster after the walks to give the opportunity for other delegates to visit their poster and have a discussion with them.
For instructions on how to format your abstract please download the abstract template here, and make the necessary adaptations, keeping the following in mind:
- Add your text, and remove all instructions and examples.
- Do not change the font or spacing.
- Save the template in a .docx with file name your Last Name First Name Number (i.e. 1 for your first abstract submission, 2 in case you also submit a second abstract). For example Anderson Emma 1.docx
Abstract review and publication
The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee in January 2022. Accepted abstracts will be selected for oral presentations or for interactive poster sessions. The final selection of accepted abstracts and designated format (oral or poster presentation) will be announced in February 2022.
Abstract call outline
Every researcher is allowed to submit a maximum of two abstracts. Awards will be presented for best abstract and presentation (selected by a jury) and best presentation (selected by the conference attendees).
