Pain Science In Motion IV Congress Maastricht

Every two years the Pain Science in Motion congress is organised to increase awareness on the relevance of pain. The focus of this research colloquium is on research methods in pain sciences, rather than on research findings or (clinical) applications of research findings from pain science.

The program focuses on the methodological part of the research process, as opposed to results only. Furthermore, the conference is unique as it specifically provides PhD-students a podium to primarily present their questions, experiences and solutions on research methodology and secondarily their study results. The pedagogical content and structure of the conference is built on an active learning approach for and from the PhD-students.

The congress also aims at inspiring young researchers in the field, which is achieved through four keynote lectures and meet-the-expert sessions. With its focus on research methods in pain science, and being the only pain congress in the world to focus on PhD researchers in the field of pain, this congress is unique in the field of pain.

This Pain Science in Motion Congress IV builds on the highly successful previous editions of the Pain Science in Motion Congress held in 2015 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Brussels, Belgium; in 2017 at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden; and in 2019 at the University of Genoa in Savona, Italy.

The conference is jointly organized by the Pain in Motion international research group, the department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Research School of CAPHRI, Maastricht University, and the Center of Expertise in Rehabilitation and Pain of Adelante
